National Ryan White Conference
Overview
The National Ryan White Conference is a biennial event hosted by HRSA's Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, bringing together thousands of recipients for sessions on care, treatment, and program strategy. It's the largest event our team supports. In 2026 alone, the conference drew 5,656 total attendees across 144 sessions in 6 tracks over four days.
The Website
I've maintained the official conference website (ryanwhiteconference.hrsa.gov) since 2020, updating event details each cycle, building out the site with photography from past conferences, and keeping the WordPress installation current on plugins, themes, and the security standards required to hold its .gov status.
The Program Book
Each conference produces a 150+ page program book covering keynote speakers, the full session schedule, and logistics, built to Section 508 standards. Content comes from months of planning between the event co-chairs and comms staff, and changes substantially each cycle as themes, sessions, and stakeholders shift with each administration.
After attendees found the 2022 program book too dark, I designed a new template for 2024. The 2026 edition carried that design forward with light updates.
Brand and Materials
A subcontractor developed the conference's evergreen logo package in 2022, and the visual identity has stayed consistent since. I build the graphical materials that carry that identity across the conference: signage, the program book, digital displays, and the event website.
Signage and Onsite Support
For each conference, our team designs physical and digital signage: foam core directional signs, fabric pillars, and meter boards. For 2026, the signage plan expanded to include digital LED display totems positioned at session room doors and larger directional totems throughout the venue.
Onsite, I worked the conference help desk and updated each digital display to the next session after every breakout block.
Photography
I shot conference photography in 2018 and 2024, covering keynotes, breakout sessions, and candid attendee moments. The keynote sessions, held in a hotel ballroom in front of thousands of attendees, are the strongest images from that work.
The Result
I've supported eight years of this conference across its website, print materials, signage, and photography, sustaining a consistent, accessible experience for thousands of in-person and virtual attendees each cycle.
